kiss in the rain
Why is it that love isn't enough,
why do you want more, the warmth of a hug, a loving caress,
isn't that all one needs to be happy.

The promise of the future is a hard one to make.
whereas to dream together is what i would really want to do.
cherish the beautiful present together with you.
When you keep wishing for the future,
it's burden crushes my today with you,
is that what you really want to do.

i dreamt of just moments spent together,
under the shade of any roof, listening to the  rain outside.
each drop's beauty reminds me of you,
and what we share together, makes each moment stretch,
stretch till we are lost in it, and me in you, and you in me.

why would you want more than this ?
or risk losing this for anything else,
i wouldn't , not for the whole world ...

how can i know, what paths lie ahead,
be there darkness or light, or fear or dread ?
but this much i know , i'll always be there next to you.
and whatever happens , whatever happens l'll always love you.

why isn't that enough for you,
the promise of my hand, to hold onto,
i can only promise what i have,
and i don't have a future to give to you,
but whatever the future is i want to share it with you ...

I Thank Thee

I do not thank Thee, Lord,
That I have bread to eat while others starve;
Nor yet for work to doWhile empty hands solicit Heaven;
Nor for a body strongWhile other bodies flatten beds of pain.
No, not for these do I give thanks!

But I am grareful, Lord,
Because my meager loaf I may divide;
For that my busy handsMay move to meet another's need;
Because my doubled strengthI may expend to steady one who faints.
Yes, for all these do I give thanks!
For heart to share, desire to bearAnd will to lift,
Flamed into one by deathless Love---
Thanks be to God for this!Unspeakable! his Gift!

I Know Who Holds My Hand

I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
And I don't borrow from the sunshine,
'Cause the skies might turn to gray.

And I don't worry about the future,
'Cause I know what Jesus said;
And today I'm gonna walk right beside Him'
Cause He's the one who knows what lies ahead.

There are things about tomorrow
That I don't seem to understand.
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

And each step is getting brighter
As these golden stairs I climb
And every burden is getting lighter
And all the clouds, they're silver lined.

And, Over There, the sun it's always shining.
There no tears will ever dim the eye.
And at the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky.

There are things about tomorrow
That I don't seem to understand,
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.
Yes, I know Who holds my hand.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. he also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the lord about it. "Lord, you said that once i decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most toublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footsteps. I don't understand why when I needed you the most, you would leave me."

The Lord replied,"My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Even In The Dark

He was a strong man facing an enemy beyond his strength. His young wife had become gravely ill, then suddenly passed away, leaving the big man alone with a wide-eyed, flaxen girl, not quite five years old.

The service in the village chapel was simple, and heavy with grief. After the burial at the cemetery, the man's neighbors gathered around him. "Please bring your little girl and stay with us for several days," someone said. "You shouldn't go back home just yet."

Broken-hearted though he was, the man answered, "Thank you, friends, for the kind offer. But we need to go back home--where she was. My baby and I must face this."So they returned, the big man and his little girl, to what now seemed an empty, lifeless house. The man brought his daughter's little bed into his room, so they could face the first dark night together. As the minutes slipped by that night, the young girl was having a dreadful time going to sleep...and so was her father.

What could pierce a man's heart deeper than a child sobbing for a mother who would never come back?Long into the night the little one continued to weep. The big man reached out into her bed and tried to comfort her as best he could. After a while, the little girl managed to stop crying--but only out of sorrow for her father. Thinking his daughter was asleep, the father looked up and said brokenly, "I trust You, Father, but...it's as dark as midnight!"

Hearing her dad's prayer, the little girl began to cry again.
"I thought you were asleep, baby," he said.

"Papa, I did try. I was sorry for you. I did try. But---I couldn't go to sleep. Papa, did you ever know it could be so dark? Why Papa? I can't even see you, it's so dark." Then, through her tears, the little girl whispered, "But you love me, even if it's dark--don't you, Papa?" You love me even if I don't see you, don't you, Papa?"For an answer, the big man reached across with his massive hands, lifted his little girl out of her bed, brought her over onto his chest, and held her, until at last she felt asleep.

When she was finally quiet, he began to pray. He took his little girl's cry to him and passed it up to God."Father, it's dark as midnight. I can't see You at all. But You love me even when it's dark and I can't see, don't You?"

From that blackest of hours, the Lord touched him with new strength, enabling him to carry on. He knew that God went on loving him, even in the dark.

Miracles

Isn't it amazing how God works in our lives!
On a Saturday night several weeks ago, this pastor was working late, and decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn't answer the phone. The pastor let the phone ring many times. He thought it was odd that she didn't answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes. When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways.
The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night. The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about. Then the man said, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer." The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife. The man said, "That's, OK. Let me tell you my story.
You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I did, I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now.' At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said, 'Almighty God'. I was afraid to answer!"

The reason why it showed on the man's caller ID that the call came from "Almighty God" is because the church that the pastor attends is called Almighty God Tabernacle!!

Real Friend

Horror gripped the heart of the World War I soldier, as he saw his life-long friend fall in battle. Caught in a trench with continuous gunfire whizzing over his head, the soldier asked his lieutenant if he might go out into the "No Man's Land" between the trenches to bring his fallen comrade back. "You can go," said the lieutenant, "but I don't think it will be worth it. Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your own life away."

The lieutenant's words didn't matter, and the soldier went anyway. Miraculously he managed to reach his friend, hoist him onto his shoulder, and bring him back to their company's trench. As the two of them tumbled in together to the bottom of the trench, the officer checked the wounded soldier, then looked kindly at his friend. "I told you it wouldn't be worth it," he said. "Your friend is dead, and you are mortally wounded." "It was worth it, though, sir," the soldier said. "How do you mean, 'worth it'?" responded the lieutenant. "Your friend is dead!" "Yes sir," the private answered.

"But it was worth it because when I got to him, he was still alive, and I had the satisfaction of hearing him say, 'Jim, I knew you'd come.'

" Many a times in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not really depends on how you look at it. Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret not doing it later in life. May each and everyone of you be blessed with the company of true friends.

Hide And Seek

One summer day a mother looked out the window of her house. There in the garden she saw her little daughter rolling around the grass in laughter. Intrigued she went outside to investigate. Approaching her daughter the mother asked, "My child, what do you find so amusing?""I understand, I understand," replied the child among bursts of giggles."What do you mean?" questioned the mother.
"Well," answered the child, "I was playing outside on the grass when I started thinking about God, and how I have heard people say that God is everywhere. But I looked around and couldn't see God anywhere. So I thought: of course! God must be playing a game of hide and seek. So I decided to try find God. I looked amongst the roses for I have heard that God is beautiful. But God was not there. I lay on my back and searched the skies for I have heard that God is up in the Heavens. But God was not there. I dug in the ground for I have heard that God supports us all. But God was not there. And I became very frustrated and I called out: Where are you God? Why have you left me? And then, all of a sudden, a sense of peace came over me and I realized the Truth!"
Spellbound, the mother gently inquired, "What truth?""That," giggled the little child, "It was not God who was hiding, it was me".

So much of our lives we stumble around lost trying to seek God, never realizing we are already Found. All we merely need to do is to stop hiding from God and to embrace Him fully.

Jesus is knocking

I found this on orkut from Vishal

I know he would want this go as far as possible

I remember this painting of Jesus in a garden, and He's knocking on what looks to be a big oak door. Holman Hunt painted it and when he was ready to unveil it, he called his friends and family together. It was quiet as each person stood there. Then, people began to comment on what impressed them.

But one friend said hesitantly, "Uh, Holman, it's a beautiful painting. But, well, didn't you forget something?" "What did I forget?" The friend said, "The handle. There's no handle on the door." To which the artist simply replied, "Oh! No, I didn't forget the handle. When Jesus knocks on the door of your heart, the handle's on the INSIDE." This painting was based on Jesus' own words in Revelation 3:20. It was a statement made originally to believers who had left Jesus out. "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in."

This story is a true story and really touches my heart every time I see it. Have you reached out lately to take hold of that handle? The Lord presents Himself to you in many ways. Are you listening?
